What’s Really Different
About Our Performances
at Kids’ Birthday Parties?

A mom sent us this message..

For Fun and Memorable Kids’ Birthday Parties

Most of the time, instead of being happy and cheerful, kids’ birthday parties are a big bore. When all you do is eat, watch boring magic, and play predictable parlor games like Musical Chairs and Bring Me, the only thing the celebrant will actually look forward to are the gifts.

To make a kid’s birthday party fun, you need to get some help.

In the earlier days, card tricks were as exciting as bungee jumping. But now, they are not as magical and mesmerizing like it used to be. With books and television shows teaching people how to do magic, simple card tricks are now as thrilling as 30s music are to a 21st century kid.

What would be cool is if there were no card tricks OR money tricks. Create some drama with a few spotlights  and exciting illusions that are either funny,  scary or both.

You know another thing kids don’t like these days? Lineups.

What would you feel if you line up to have your face painted or to get a giraffe balloon, wait impatiently for a dragging hour, and you’re STILL just halfway to victory? Not fun, huh? It’s true that lineups keep the order together but it’s also true that they make people wait.  For those little bundles of energy, even a few minutes of waiting seems like eternity.

Next is to do something about those snooze-worthy parlor games that have sneakily found their way to kids’ birthday parties. They could easily be replaced by cool robot races, fun parachute games (which is nothing close to parlor games), and competitive bazooka balloon fights. Not only do they thrill the children, they’re also adult-friendly.

We’ve already talked about some kids’ birthday party pet peeves and I’m still going to add more to the list.

Wires are also a big enemy of big balls of young energy. They don’t look pretty, and may be a safety issue if they’re all over the floor ready for a running child to trip on them. The good news is that there are cordless PAs and spotlights available.

And now we’ve come to the end of the few things that make kids’ parties boring.  I’ll now tell you the biggest bummer for kids’ birthday parties that concern both the birthday celebrant AND his/her parents – the price.

The very cost of all the decorations, balloons, magic tricks, and cake will define if the kid’s party will go well or not. Some are incredibly cheap but are also incredibly terrible. Some are really fun, but are also really hard on your wallet. If there were three entertainers for the price of one (and they brought their own spotlights), it will be much more bearable.

With everything solved, let the party begin!

Filipino and Punjabi
1st Birthday Celebrations
in
Surrey (Vancouver) BC

A 1st birthday party celebration is a very special occasion. Turning one is a big milestone and deserves to be celebrated in a big way. Various cultures have their own traditions and rituals surrounding their celebrations, including Filipino and Punjabi cultures.

No matter the culture, 1st birthday party celebrations are all about family. The guest of honor may be too young to understand all that is going on around him, but the photos, videos, and stories passed down will remind him later in life of all who were there and all that went on. Just because a one year old is too young to understand the meaning behind their 1st birthday doesn’t mean they can’t get in on the fun. Hiring a mascot, entertainer, or magician for a 1st birthday celebration can still be a lot of fun. There will be guests of all ages at the party and the little guest of honor will be dazzled by anyone that is friendly and likes to have fun.

If there is to be a large number of family members attending the 1st birthday celebration it will make the most sense to have it in a hall rather than in the home. Because of this it will be necessary to make preparations ahead of time to book a hall that is convenient in location and for the date and time required. Once the hall is secured it is time to finalize the guest list and begin to plan your Filipino or Punjabi first birthday party.

Depending on the number of guests you will need to ensure there is adequate food and drink for everyone, and don’t forget the cake! You will want to decorate the venue as well, whether in traditional Filipino or Punjabi décor or in a child friendly theme.

The next and perhaps most important step is the entertainment. It is unreasonable to expect all your guests to have nothing to do for several hours, so the best thing to do is hire someone to provide some form of entertainment to keep them amused at least part of the time. The birthday child will be entertained, as well as all the other children and adults attending the party.

Filipino and Punjabi first birthday parties are all about family. It is important that everyone be included, and in particular the elders. They are an integral part of any family gathering and are honored along with the special birthday child.

What’s Really Different
About Our Performances
at Kids’ D-I-Y Birthday Parties?

A dad sent us this message..

The mix of humour and magic was absolutely fantastic. Honestly, I don’t remember when was the last time I laughed as much as I did.  The actors dressed in Mickey, Dora and Elmo really made me feel back in Disney; they really know exactly how to communicate and dance with children. I had fun too. The dancing, music selection and hilarious environment made it an unforgettable moment.  And besides the brilliant entertainment, I could see they are experienced professionals; they know exactly how to coordinate the party, the moments and the shows. When they announced the magic tricks I was a bit reticent; thought to myself “ok, here we go again: card tricks!” I do not think any parents would like to see their child influenced by card-tricks and gambling.  But no! These chaps really do what they preach: family-oriented “no-card-tricks”. This was such a relief! Absolutely spot on magic, without silly “gambling cards”. Loved it! The organization and professionalism of these chaps was end-to-end. They advertise “no-line-up face painters” for kids.  And guess what?! Yes, it’s possible!! I really would like to have had a go but I was a bit embarrassed – maybe not now.  I played with the balloons twisting; I always wanted to know how they work. Brilliant! Now, if you think from cost benefit side, and look at other Vancouver magicians in town, the investment is not only worth it but a must! I can tell you that other magicians would make the children and adults laugh, but they would not create unforgettable moments are these ones here.  They do what they preach and rest assured that memories will be forever. Absolutely brilliant!  I can not wait to be in the next party show.
