Not many magicians in Metro Vancouver can show you real people reviews on YouTube, especially those of parents of young children. Why is that?
Magicians — all magicians — have great difficulty at birthday parties because he/she doesn’t know what to expect. Every party is quite different, and the ages of kids are also “all over the place.”
Moreover, most magicians for hire are CARD TRICK magicians, which in the mind of wiser people, not a suitable performance for young children, for the simple fact that CARD TRICKS glorify (casino) gambling.
This is a conundrum for most magic show performers, because it pits the magician (who usually want to show card tricks) versus the parents/aunts (who are usually horrified to see card tricks.)
Furthermore, card tricks are only suitable for CLOSEUP MAGIC, whereas a birthday magic show for kids is SMALL GROUP MAGIC. In other words, you can’t really see the cards.
Finally, from the point of view of at least one professor of education, the “usual” magician “takes away” self-esteem from the audience, because in the “usual” magic show, the magician is the SMARTEST PERSON in the room, or at least the magician would like the audience to think that. As suck, the audience “loses” self-esteem. And, remember, the audience is paying for this. With the (often-unperceived) loss of self-esteem, the audience is REALLY PAYING for the magic show, in more ways than one!
However, Bobby the Magician has a different way of performing — the audience does ALL the magic tricks, or it seems that way. In other words, the audience (kids/grownups) get ALL THE APPLAUSE. So, the audience is the “smart” one, in Bobby’s magic shows.
So, how do people like this, you say?
All you have to do, to find out, is to go to Facebook and search for the Facebook “Likes” count on Vancouver magicians.
You will see that there are more “Likes” (votes) for Bobby the Magician than any other Vancouver magician — not just more Likes, but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more Facebook Likes than vancouvermagician.ca (that’s Clinton W. Gray), Yeeri, Rod Chow, Ray Wong, etc. Here’s a link, too: most-liked vancouver BC magic party
